Volunteer Form on this website. If you would like to volunteer and don’t see
anything here of interest, tell us about you and let’s find a meaningful position
for you. Many hands do make the work easier and more fun.
- Curator – a job for someone who likes organization, history, displays, and
dust. Object, media/photo & computer skills helpful. We need this! - Oral History Curator (an archivist of living memory).
- Correspondence Secretary.
- Social Media Manager – people with computer skills – FB, Instagram, other?
- Event Coordinator.
- Publicity – help us get the word out for events, etc.
- Gardener/Grounds Manager.
- Docent Coordinator and Docents for visitor engagement and education.
Perhaps retired teachers as they have a natural desire to impart
information? - Board Members and General Advisors (people to suggest new
ideas/general improvements). - Event Volunteers – to help put up posters, help set up and take down
tables, chairs, flags, etc. - People who like to clean – we know you are out there and keeping the
museum looking clean and tidy is important. - Handy People – general things that come up, often small jobs:
- Ceiling in bathroom needs work
- Repair gaps in Smoke House
- Picnic table repair
- Painters – often more than a notion
- Windows repair/replace
- Insulation – a project to figure out
- Plumber to determine why some water runs slow and do something
aesthetically pleasing with PVC pipes. - Gallons of exterior primers & paint for Defender House (Sherwin Williams
has color) - Cans to make banks (#2)
- Heater (approx. 3 feet) with thermostat for Carriage House
- Storage Building
